The construction of the new children's facilities for both winter and summer use required a coherent concept, detailed planning, and careful preparation. Hohsaas Lifts decided to take the time necessary for such a project, and began planning for the children's facilities early on. In this way, it was possible – in cooperation with BORER Lifts AG and its manager Axel Halder - to visit numerous model facilities during the prior winter.
The facilities at Kreuzboden were first adapted for the upcoming project. To this end, BORER Lifts AG took numerous measurements and also prepared a 3D model for better visualization. The necessary modifications to the area greatly improved the existing facilities by adding more surface area for the children's section.
Wonder Carpet
138-meter Wonder Carpet!
Most importantly of all, the new "Hohsi" Snowland required new lifts suitable for children. The quality, reliability, and record of success offered by BORER Lifts AG helped make the decision very simple. For this reason, Hohsaas Lifts decided on a 138m-long Sunkid Wonder Carpet as the primary lift system. Powered by an 18.5 kW motor, and equipped with the custom "Blue Eye" conveyor belt, the Wonder Carpet guarantees safe transport for all guests to the new children's area.
With three operating stations (lower, upper, and supervising), the Wonder Carpet offers extra safety. In addition, a special reservoir ditch was created below the operating station to provide space for snow removal. This simplifies service and maintenance during operation of the system.
With help from BORER Lifts AG, the construction of the "Hohsi" Children's Land means more custom activities for families and children in winter and summer. This is an important cornerstone of Hohsaas Lifts AG's strategy, because today's children are tomorrow's skiers!
