EVOLUS Gallery
The essential technical innovations of the new Sunkid EVOLUS at a glance:
VARIOS Gallery
Flexible Kombination von Materialien
The basic idea behind the Sunkid Varios gallery is the flexible combination of various materials. A solid metal substructure holds laminated wood beams with polycarbonate windows that are easily and quickly joined together on-site.
The main focus in the development of this gallery aside from the visual aspect was above all:
Individually customized facings from various materials and of various forms (e.g. larch wood, wooden rails of any type, slate plates, ornaments, glass plates, corrugated plates, back-lit images, prints of any type and form) in the lower part offer numerous design possibilities and ensure a personal touch.

Gallery SERFAUS
The main link from the Serfaus Kinderschneealm to the cable car and restaurant is a 229.65 ft long Wonder Carpet from Sunkid. The conveyor transfers guests uphill as well as downhill depending upon the time of day.
The customer presented Sunkid with the task of fitting this main artery, used all year round, with a canopy that optically blends with the total concept of the new Kinderschneealm. Therefore Sunkid developed, along with its partner Almholz, a wooden gallery modeled on a Tyrolean wood shed. Two cable railways that closely cross over the gallery were a special challenge. In close cooperation with the Tyrolean government, an appropriate safety concept was developed.
DUPLEX Gallery
The requirements for this project in Sierra Nevada (Spain) were not easy to fulfill. A complete canopy covering two conveyors running in parallel (a Sunkid conveyor and a Kaser Skicarpet) had to be designed, manufactured and assembled from the bottom up in only 3 months. In addition, the unit was to be installed at 2,600m above sea level and would have to withstand the most extreme weather conditions (such as wind speeds of up to 130.49 mph - 210 km/h).
The Sunkid development department designed the DUPLEX Gallery with an inner passage width of 1.08 ft (330cm) and an inner height of 0.82 ft (250cm). In this gallery as well various materials were combined with each other. The foundation was again a solid fully galvanized metal substructure. An innovative half-arched aluminum profile built the basic structure of the canopy. The entire upper area was filled with 0.1969 inch (5mm) thick polycarbonate glass. Impregnated wooden sheathing in the lower part created a soft and pleasant sense of space. Electrical rolling doors are mounted at both the entry and exit. There is a side opening every 49.21 ft (15m) that can be closed off with glass doors.
PC-ORANGE Gallery
Sunkid offers customers an innovative alternative even with the tried and proven aluminum design. The 0.1181 inch (3mm) thick, UV-resistant polycarbonate glass can also be ordered in orange. The resulting effect not only turns the gallery into an eye-catcher in the ski area, but also enlightens the spirits of passengers during their ride, also in gloomy weather.
The Gallery enclosure for the conveyor belt can now be outfitted with solar panels to produce green energy. The electricity produced by the panels is then fed into the power network, or can be stored in batteries for later use directly on site.
The solar panels are laminated into place with a sandwich-like construction using two polycarbonate panes, each 0,07”(2mm) thick. This ensures both optimal protection from damage and utmost reliability. In addition, the laminar construction with two panes increases structural strength.
The new laminar construction using polycarbonate panes not only allows the incorporation of solar panels, but also additional possibilities – like the insertion of transparent logos, signs, advertisements, etc.
