Neuss (D): Two Sunkid Wonder Carpets on the Neuss Glacier
The first indoor ski dome in Germany now offers a dedicated kids and beginners slope with toboggan and tubing tracks, as well as two Wonder Carpets from Sunkid
At the Neuss ski hall – also fondly referred to as the “Neuss Glacier,” two T-bar lifts, a four-seat lift and two Sunkid Wonder Carpets provided for a comfortable climb along the 984 feet (300m) long and 196 feet (60m) wide powder snow ski slope up until now. Constantly high visitor volume prompted the operator to expand the ski area offer by another hall. So now, both halls can hold a maximum capacity of 700 skiers and sledgers!
However, this investment has not only succeeded at increasing the ski area, but also at better adapting the offer to the needs of visitors. In the existing hall, the advanced and pro skiers can ride “undisturbed” down the hill. And in the new hall, an offer was put together to provided targeted learning for kids and beginners. As a further highlight, special toboggan and tubing tracks are also available there.
Transportation of passengers in the new hall is taken on exclusively by two Sunkid Wonder Carpets with a total length of 374 feet (114 meters). The operator’s decision to put their trust in a Sunkid Wonder Carpet when acquiring a new conveyor was an easy one. “We are open 365 days a year and can afford no failures. For that, we need a partner that is committed 24 hours a day. Sunkid does just that!” says Dzemal Dzaferovic, ski area manager and technical division director at the Neuss Ski Hall. This trust is emphasized by 80,000 (!) problem-free operating hours of the two existing Sunkid Wonder Carpets.
