Sunkid Gallery with wood in Les Menuires
As an alternative to the current Bubble Gallery, Sunkid has developed the EVOLUS Gallery, a conveyor canopy newly designed from the ground up. The key components of the gallery are made from aluminum and polycarbonate, in many versions supplemented with wood.
The result is clear to see: The new appearance and styling was consistently implemented with increased sense of space in mind, without losing sight of the stability of the structure. In Les Menuires, the canopy was designed with impregnated wood paneling at the side upon special request of the customer. The design therefore perfectly fits into the backdrop of Les Menuires and on top of that offers good protection against damage in the critical ground-level area during maintenance work (shoveling, etc.) as well as against the ski poles of passengers.

Solar Modules
Since most of the conveyor belts are installed in extremely sensitive Alpine regions, matters of sustainability and energy efficiency are naturally of great importance to Sunkid. This is reflected in the mobile structure on the one side which allows for an installation without the need for concrete foundations. On the other, complete Sunkid galleries can be additionally fitted with partly transparent solar modules and thus used to produce ecological electrical power.
A 328-feet (100m) long Sunkid Wonder Carpet requires approximately 50 kWh of electricity during typical lift operating times (9am to 4pm). "With a photovoltaic array installed in the Gallery enclosure, a Wonder Carpet over 196 feet (60m) in length can supply all of its own energy needs. The cost of the initial investment is recovered after 10 years," explains Sunkid CEO Emanuel Wohlfarter.
