Continuous snow blanket
With its plastic mats, Sunkid offers a “continuous snow blanket” in tricky areas at ski resorts such as exposed T-bar lift tracks, access areas or iced-up exit areas of mountain lifts. Even complete ski runs can be substituted with plastic mats, as the Schneeerlebniswelt in Vienna shows.

At the Schneeerlebniswelt in Vienna, visitors big and small can let off steam on an area spanning 700 square meters – no matter what the temperature or snow conditions are. A 98-foot-long (30m) Sunkid conveyor belt conveniently takes visitors to the top. Then it’s down the hill on skis, snowboard or Zi-bob. Since its opening, the Schneeerlebniswelt has been operating in high gear, especially with school ski trips. "The kids themselves as well as the instructors are very impressed with the new facility. The learning outcome is excellent, since kids find edging easier and rarely have slipping phases as is frequently the case on slippery artificial snow,” reports Martin Freiberger of Schneeerlebniswelt in Vienna.

Thanks to Sunkid plastic mats, the drag lifts are rideable even without snow

Even in Bavaria, snow has still not arrived and temperatures are too high to cover the ski runs with artificial snow. That is why the Audi Skizentrum Sonnenbichl decided to go for Sunkid plastic mats. They were laid out in the area of the drag lift.
“The snow holds up much longer than without mats. We are merely a training center and selected the narrow version. For normal ski operations, the wider mats would probably be the better choice. In addition, they are available in white as well as green. We chose the green so that the mats wouldn’t be very noticeable in summer," said Sepp Bartl from the Audi Skizentrum Sonnenbichl, appearing to be quite impressed.

The combination of the relative valley location, along with the steep terrain and exposed location of the lift path was a great challenge for the operator. The melting snow had to be tediously replaced with artificial snow brought over from the snow depot.
All this was reason enough for the operator to search for a solution which was found in the Sunkid plastic mattings. They have two essential advantages:
