Sunkid installs a complete Tubing facility in the Bavarian forest
Silberberg/Bodenmais (Germany): Summer Tubing facility in the Bavarian forest featuring a 295-foot (90m) long conveyor belt and a 400-foot (122m) long tubing track
A number of attractions make the Silberberg Mountain near Bodenmais (Germany) at a nearly 3280 ft above sea level an adventure for the entire family. The historical visitor mine set deep within the mountain, the Alpine coaster, the petting zoo and the (adventure) playgrounds are now enhanced with the Sunkid Summer Tubing facility with a passenger conveyor.
Whizzing down the Silberberg Mountain through steep bends – that is something visitors have already been enjoying for years on the popular Alpine coaster. With the Summer Tubing installation, the Silberberg facility now offers a spirited alternative with a winter feel. And unlike the coaster, it is something you can enjoy even in wet conditions!
Featured on the 393-foot (120m) long tracks with 3 steep turns are the snow tubes already used in winter activities. They display sliding properties just like on snow on a six-foot wide special underlay. “And the gradient we have here is optimal for this purpose,” said Silberbergbahn operations manager Michael Hagengruber. And then it’s back up the hill on the Sunkid conveyor belt which not only the youngest skiers remember from winter at the ski school.
