Sunkid goes New School
New areas of applications keep opening up for the Sunkid Conveyor belt and the small ski lifts
Until about a few years ago, the main use of the convoyer belt and small ski lifts was as a teaching aide to make learning how to ski easier for kids and beginners. Yet hand in hand with the ongoing development of ski sports, new areas of applications for these climbing aids in ski resorts are increasingly appearing.

Convoyer belt for the Big Air Jump
Livigno (ITA)
Just below the mountain station of the Carosello ski resort is the Livigno Park featuring an XL area reserved for pro athletes, as well as three additional areas with jumps and rails accessible to all. The Big Air Jump is also available to everybody. Up until now, after each jump, the daring jumpers had to hike it on foot back to the start area along with their equipment. But now, a 80m long Sunkid conveyor belt taken over that job.
Comfort Star for the Superpipe
Flachauwinkl
In addition to the giant kicker and rail line, the Absolut Park in Flachauwinkl has been supplemented with a Superpipe. At a length of 524 ft (160m) and an impressive height of 22 ft (6.80 (!) meters), it fulfills the competition criteria of the International Ski Association (FIS).
To save visitors the current climb up the hill on foot in the future, the operator decided to install a Sunkid Comfort Star along the Superpipe. It features a rope-fixed revolving platter lift and offers skiers as well as boarders a number of use options, such as setting the platter between the legs, holding the handgrip alongside or with the anchor against the bottom.
