Sunkid Wood’n’Fun: Tall peak for small adventurers
Wildkogel-Arena Neukirchen/Bramberg (Austria): Sunkid builds a wood motor skills playground in cooperation with partner Almholz
To stand high up on a mountain and fully experience nature in all its diversity is already a fascinating adventure for any visitor of Wildkogel, big or small. Yet things get really exciting and fun for young holiday guests in the adventure land made from wood and spanning 2.5 acres (10,000 sq. meters) designed by Sunkid in cooperation with Almholz. This is Phase 1 of a total concept designed by Sunkid which will move into Phase 2 as soon as next year.
The Wildkogel mascots – “Kogel-Mogel” and “Kogel-Mia” show young discoverers the way to six exciting stations which were installed right next to the Wildkogelbahn panorama-view mountain restaurant. These include a dexterity and balance course, the “Kogel-Mogel” giant outlook tower with climbing wall and an eagle’s nest which can only be reached over three freely suspended climbing nets.
The wooden peak wave extends over a length of over 78 feet (24m) and features a wave crest, tube and broad slides, crawl tunnel, climbing wall and pole course. The Goliath swing with a length of 55 feet (17m), as well as the ground trampoline present additional challenges to sharpen the motor senses. Those who prefer a more quiet approach can relax on loungers and in seating areas which just like all the playground equipment are produced from local larch wood.

“Kogel-Mogel” Climbing Tower
The seven-meter high “Kogel-Mogel” wood tower is the highlight of the play park. The climbing grips on the façade as well as on the inside which lead to the tube slide practice strength and coordination in children. From the top of the tower, “Kogel-Mogel” and “Kogel-Mia” look over the entire play park.
An explosion of adventure awaits young mountain goats and curious adventurers at the wooden peak wave extending over 78 feet (24m) in length. They climb up the wave crest over climbing nets and steps and then slide back down into the wave trough on tube and broad slides. Then they go through the crawl tunnel, up the climbing wall and through the clever pole course. Waiting at the end of the wave is the cozy nest swing which beckons all for a rest after the activities.
