Zürs am Arlberg (AUT)
Zürs am Arlberg
As the cradle of alpine skiing and a prominent venue for the Alpine World Ski Championship, Arlberg prides itself on its sense of long-lasting tradition. The White Rush (Weißer Rausch) and the White Ring (Weißer Ring) races, which are open to the public, have also achieved legendary status. The White Ring is a type of circuit race where participants take on a 13-mile (22km) loop which includes the usage of regular ski lift facilities. In some cases, this also includes the Zürsersee Lift, depending on the designated route. This problem has been solved with the 137-foot (42m) long Sunkid conveyor belt, which was added to the end of the bridge in order to serve as an extension. Due to the relatively low number of beginner skiers in this ski area, a conveyor belt functioning at speeds of up to 3.937 ft/s (1.2 m/s) has been installed. In short, after the conclusion of the winter season, both the board director of Zürs AG, Mr. Philipp Zangerl, as well as the manager responsible for the Zürsersee Lift, Mr. Gerhard Steiner, are highly satisfied with the performance of the Sunkid conveyor belt.
Kitzbühel (AUT)
Kitzbühel
No less popular is the ski area in Kitzbühel. It is famous worldwide not only for the skiing experience it offers, but also for its Men’s Alpine Downhill Ski World Cup on the “Streif”. The starting point of this notoriously famous run is located at the so-called “Hahnenkamm”, which is only a stone’s throw away from the mountain station of the gondola lift. Additionally, the cable car serves as the entryway into the spacious ski resort. However, up until now, in order to reach the public slopes, it has always been necessary to cross over a small passageway where guests have had to carry their equipment. In order to ensure that its guests have the most enjoyable experience possible while within the ski area, the management has invested in a 226-foot (69m) long and 29-inch (750mm) wide Sunkid conveyor belt, with an entrance point that guests can easily find thank the entrance arch from the Sunkid Sunny Stuff product line. The decision was made to go with a conveyor belt with a maximum speed of 3.937 ft/s (1.2 m/s), as most of the skiers in this section are experienced winter sports enthusiasts.
