From the parking lot to the ski resort with the conveyor belt

Levi (Finland): Finland’s first Sunkid conveyor belt with EVOLUS Gallery offers visitors a convenient climb up to the ski resort or beginners' area

Levi in northern Finland is known to any people not only as a ski resort, but also as the traditional venue of the Alpine Ski World Cup. So this year as well, the women's slalom race will take place here in just a few weeks. Yet there is also a world premiere in Levi. Specifically, it involves the first ever Sunkid conveyor belt with EVOLUS Gallery to be installed in Finland.

It is located in the direct vicinity of the parking area, right next to a reservoir. The reservoir which freezes in winter serves as an access corridor to the resort for skiers as well as an exercise and play area for non-skiers. The 157-foot (48m) long conveyor belt available for use free of charge takes on a central role here.  For one it takes skiers a short way up so they can take the chair lift located near the parking lot. For another, it is used by beginners and children to learn how to ski on the slopes along the side.

It is a practical solution for parents or grandparents who stay in the non-skiing area and still keep an eye on their kids. Given the cold temperatures often prevailing in this geographic location, the Sunkid EVOLUS Gallery protects the youngest visitors not only from snowfall, but also from strong winds and frosty temperatures.  After the first season, the operators were so happy with the Sunkid conveyor belt that this year another was installed to offer visitors even more comfort at the Levi Ski Resort.
