Convoyer belt with special snow pit
Pinzolo / Madonna di Campiglio (Italy): A 423-foot (129m) long Sunkid Convoyer belt makes the installation of an unconventional snow pit possible thanks to its special placement
Pinzolo is a relatively small ski resort and belongs to the area of Madonna di Campiglio which is known as the venue for the Alpine Ski World Cup, among others. The beginners’ area which is located at the top station of Pra Rodont gondola lift can now be accessed with a 423-foot (129m) long and 2.46-foot (750mm) wide Sunkid Convoyer belt.
The conveyor was installed on the outermost edge of the beginners’ area, allowing the available space to be maximally utilized. The slope drops steeply on the other side of the Convoyer belt. As a result, an unconventional solution for the snow pit at the top and bottom stations could be applied. Rather than emptying the pits from the top or by heating the snow as would usually be done, these can be accessed from the side. This not only makes snow removal easier, it also allows easy access for maintenance work on the Convoyer belt.
