Dry slopes in summer
Plastic slopes, often also referred to as dry slopes, enable winter sports year-round, even without any snow at all. Dry slopes have a very diverse application range, as they see use anywhere from downhill and cross-country skiing, to tubing and go-kart riding.
The special plastic mats produced by our partner Neveplast since 1998 realistically imitate the properties of snow. This kind of skiing slope is independent of weather and does not even require any special ground preparation or irrigation systems.
Three types of mats are generally distinguished based on area of application:
NP30 mats have been developed specifically for summer skiing. They guarantee a skiing experience identical to that on real snow.
NP50 mats are used as a substrate specifically for cross-country skiing in summer.
NP70 mats are used for the access and exit areas in lift transport. They can also be used to extend the transfer area or the lift route in locations with particularly little snow in winter.
TUBBY mats as they are used for the trendy “summer tubing” sport have been installed in 2,100 projects world-wide to date.
The modular TUBBY system makes it possible to build routes that are perfectly adjustable in form, length, and size, not only lowering the costs, but also permitting adjustment to the desired duration of use.
One example application for the TUBBY mats can be found in the TUBBY jump track that is synonymous with an adrenaline kick. Starting with a straight downhill section placed right on the ground or on a specially designed scaffolding, the route ends in a jump onto an air cushion or into water.
In addition to providing custom-designed tubes for year-round use, Sunkid can also take care of planning and building the plastic slopes. Sunkid and Neveplast offer a sophisticated complete system comprising the plastic mats, a high-quality metal base with lateral guide bars, and special, adjustable steep curve elements.
Sunkid offers optional accessories such as start ramps, brake systems, and the popular Moving Carpet as an ideal climbing aid. The Moving Carpet easily returns children with their skills and tubes to the beginning of the plastic slope.
The plastic mats have enjoyed great popularity for many years. They promote children’s activity in the fresh air while offering great fun. The mats are also easily adjustable to the terrain on site and can be themed to match the existing surroundings easily.
