Saastal Bergbahnen AG and Borer Lift AG create a unique tobogganing experience for families
The famous Swiss vacation region of Saas-Fee/Saas Valley describes itself as a "destination of adventure" with an impressive high alpine mountain and glacier world. And the same applies here in summer and winter: "The best time in the Alps starts now" - whether skiing, tobogganing, ice climbing or hiking, mountain biking and many other year-round family activities.
With the reopening of the Hannigbahn in spring 2024, Saastal Bergbahnen AG had the vision of repositioning the Hannig as an adventure mountain. The idea was to turn a traditional offer - the toboggan run - into a fun adventure for the whole family.
The idea: Eddy, the marmot and mascot of the destination, should be at the center of an interactive adventure story. Susanne Voide (Marketing, Saastal Bergbahnen AG) emphasizes: "Together with Borer Lift AG, we have created "Eddy's interactive toboggan run" - a unique winter experience that combines exercise, play and nature."
Many individually designed elements from the Sunkid product areas "Sunny Stuff" and "Sunline" were purchased for the existing track: six Low Fives for high-fives, two Hoop Races as start and finish markers, a smiley rotating figure, two Tree Bonks and three Toucans in size M, which show the correct path.
Along the route, the big and small sledgers have to find stolen crystals and try to get to the finish line before the evil eagle Aragon. Interactive elements such as crystal searches and speed measurements provide variety and fun. This adventure is also possible during "night sledging", as reflectors show the way to the crystals.
Voide is satisfied: "With projects such as the interactive toboggan run, which opened after New Year 2025, we want to appeal to families, groups and connoisseurs alike. The aim is to position Hannig as an adventure mountain - a place where exercise, nature, fun and culinary delights come together."
