Sunkid toboggan run as a central element of future-oriented tourism development
The Sunkid Mountain Coaster 2.0 brings a breath of fresh air to the leisure landscape of the Romanian Carpathians. The innovative toboggan run, which can be used all year round, is firmly integrated into Predeal's tourism and leisure infrastructure development strategy.
Located directly on the slope of Clăbucet, the run blends in harmoniously with the existing ski area and the natural surroundings. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring that winter sports enthusiasts on the Clăbucet slope are not disturbed and, as outsiders, also enjoy a fun toboggan run.
On a downhill run of 500 meters, with an average gradient of 19 percent, guests experience a sporty and winding ride. Straight sections offer inimitable acceleration of up to 40 km/h, while various inclines ensure action-packed changes of direction. By adjusting the speed (using the brake lever), both parents with children and adrenaline lovers can control the intensity of their experience individually. A special highlight is riding on the track's large traffic circle - for additional excitement and great views at great heights!
The 22 toboggans are each designed for one adult or one adult with a child. For extra comfort, the vehicles are equipped with ergonomic seats including folding backrests and upholstery.
One of the facility's unique selling points is its evening operation: the floodlit track enables rides even after dark, creating a completely new dimension of experience. In tourism marketing, this is advertised as a spectacular "night ride experience" in the Carpathians.
The project was also implemented with a view to the future in terms of infrastructure. The mountain transport is carried out with the help of the tried and tested Sunkid mountain conveyor. An indoor solution with a garage system and workshop was created for efficient operation and easy maintenance - including a crane for safe and convenient handling of the vehicles.
Behind the investment in the Sunkid Mountain Coaster is the goal of positioning Predeal as a versatile destination throughout all seasons. In close consultation with local stakeholders and tourism organizations, the Mountain Coaster was developed as a central element for diversifying the offer. The combination of modern technology, high visibility in the terrain and an unforgettable experience - especially at night - makes the ride a strong attraction for a wide audience.
