Lotte World Adventure in Busan has opened Sunkid's world-premiere attraction
In July 2025, the world’s first Sunkid Sundancer Galaxy ride, “Dancing Mauris,” opened in Busan, South Korea. The attraction combines interactive riding fun with high capacity and has been lovingly integrated into the history of Lotte World Adventure Busan as part of the family-oriented themed world “Joyful Meadow.”
The new model variant is based on the long-proven Sundancer concept and now features four cabins, each with four seats. This means a total of 16 guests can ride at the same time, enabling a capacity of up to 480 people per hour.
The unique combination of three types of motion creates a special ride experience: While the attraction moves along a circular track, the cabins rotate around their own axis and simultaneously swing outward.
In addition to the inimitable ride dynamics, interactivity plays a major role: Using a manual steering wheel in the center of each cabin, passengers can influence the rotational movement themselves. As a result, no two rides are alike, and visitors become an active part of the action.
In addition to the ride experience, the development also focused on cost-effectiveness for operators. Despite a capacity of up to 480 people per hour, the entire ride has a footprint of just 11.5 meters in diameter. Thanks to this compact design, the Sundancer Galaxy is suitable for both new installations and the enhancement of existing themed areas.
Shortly after the ride went into operation in South Korea, the Sundancer Galaxy received the prestigious Brass Ring Award for “Best New Product” at the IAAPA Expo 2025. This award validates the approach of combining high capacity, active passenger engagement, and modern operator requirements in a single attraction.
