Sunkid Big Pictures Summer

A journey to some of the most unusual summer projects from 2019

The summer season of 2020 is almost ready to start. The finishing touches are being put on this year’s projects right now. Because of this, we would like to invite you on a journey around the world, to some of the most unusual installations from the summer of 2019. A special thank you goes to our customers and partners with whom we have been successfully cooperating for almost a quarter of a century, and who have sent us these pictures.

Jahorina (BH)

Jahorina (BH)

The Mountain Coaster for the Olympic Center Jahorina (Bosnia) was one of the first projects after the Mountain Coaster was adopted into the Sunkid family. The region around the mountain range, no more than 30 kilometres from the capital city of Jahorina, stands out with its traditional charisma, dense forests, and nearly untouched nature. The Mountain Coaster has been harmoniously integrated into this idyll. The ride through the diverse landscape on a monorail of 2.5 km is nothing short of astonishing. The adventure takes its participants across mountain meadows and through forests, around steep turns and across jumps. Photo points that record the special moments provide picture evidence of the breath-taking ride.

Kitzbühel (AT)

Since the summer season of 2019, the world-renowned Hahnenkamm has housed the new Streif Erlebniswelt, where children and adults alike will get really close to the pros at nine active stations modelled after the example of Streif.
Sundkid’s Streif letters following the Seidlalmsprung will catch any visitor’s eye immediately. It is a great photo motive while also serving as a playground for children. Benches and deck chairs invite adults to relax and enjoy a break while the young guests can play to their hearts’ delight on the adventure playground.

Minden (GER)
Millions of years ago, dinosaurs were prowling the Earth. Thousands of years ago, sabre-toothed tigers were. However, mankind had never seen a sabre-toothed dinosaur before the summer of 2019, when the first and only one of its kind was set up in the Potts Park in Minden. The XL-Butterfly, designed as a gigantic dinosaur skeleton, can be admired and tried out by young and old. The passengers are slowly riding up the track until they reach the starting height at more than 6 metres. Once there, the sabre-toothed tiger will disengage and rush down the approx. 27 metres of the dinosaur’s back until it comes to a swinging halt in the prehistoric giant’s skeleton. It is a guarantee for fun and adrenalin at all times.

Schladming (AT)
Schladming is known for more than just its great skiing slopes. In summer, the area around the Dachstein mountain is a veritable hiking and biking paradise. The destination expanded its summer offering by the Bikepark Reiteralm, thereby creating a new offering for parents who want to spend time and do sports with their children. The Sunkid Moving Carpet is the perfect climbing aid for the young freeriders.

Goodwood (GB)
From 4 to 7 July 2019, the Goodwood Festival of Speed had an astonishing offer, when Ford went to great lengths to draw the audience’s attention. Its hard work paid off. A Mountain Coaster ride was installed on the roof of the four-storey trade fair stand, running down the outside of the building. Nearly 2,800 visitors rode the Mountain Coaster (Simulation of the Ford Focus ST) down the approx. 70 metres long route, enjoying an extraordinary ride.

Kurza Gora

Kurza Gora (PL)
In the summer of 2019, Poland gained one of the most impressive year-round tubing parks in the world. The fully lit facility ensures rapid free-time fun for the entire family in any season. The climb is made easier by a 120-metres-long Moving Carpet. Visitors of the Kurza Gora skiing area can choose between three parallel high-speed tracks with a length of 124 metres each, and two crossed tubing tracks. An adrenalin kick is certain, no matter if you choose the tunnel route, the bridge, or the tubby jump into an airbag.

Meran (IT)
The wooden marble race installed at the Meran 2000 Bergbahnen mountain railway last summer develops children’s motor skills and invites them to an exciting race. This track has multiple channels, funnels, and obstacles that keep the game exciting to the last. Handling this wooden ball race playfully improves children’s perception while calming and motivating them at the same time. It also gives them a feeling of success, which makes this attraction a true all-rounder.
