Sunkid Moving Carpet increases capacity in the new beginners' area in Krynica-Zdrój
The modern Slotwiny Arena ski resort is located in the southern Polish mountain region of the Western Beskids, in the town of Krynica-Zdrój. Operated as part of a network with four other well-known ski resorts in the Grupa Pingwina, its geographical location and technical facilities make it one of the most snow-sure winter holiday destinations in Poland. The first Type-N Moving Carpet with a belt width of 1,200 millimetres went into operation here for the current 25/26 ski season - a special project for Sunkid and its Polish sales partner MJM Service.
In order to further increase the popularity of its main target group "families and children", the ski area opened up a wide meadow area as an attractive beginners' learning slope. Together with the ultra-modern conveyor belt system from Sunkid, the introduction to winter sports is even safer and easier for everyone.
Sunkid salesman Jarosław Bocian emphasizes: "This project is special for me, as it is my second largest Moving Carpet project to date and also one of the largest of this type of lift in Poland. I am particularly pleased that the world's first Sunkid conveyor belt of the current "Type N" generation with a belt width of 1,200 millimetres was put into operation at my customer's site."
To protect passengers and components, the new Moving Carpet in Krynica-Zdrój is equipped with a bright and durable "EVO N" canopy. Seven easy-to-reach emergency stop buttons are installed at all emergency exits in the gallery. Like the entrance and exit, these are closed with self-retracting PVC tarpaulins in blue.
To increase capacity and reduce waiting times, the customer opted for the widest available belt variant for Sunkid ski conveyor belts - 1,200 millimetres in the non-slip "Rufftop" version. Here, skiers and snowboarders can ride up safely and comfortably side by side - and discuss their latest skiing experiences and learning progress with each other.
Bocian sums up: "The customer feedback so far has been very positive. Satisfaction is high, particularly in terms of comfort, capacity and the opportunity to expand and upgrade the ski area in a meaningful way."
Provisions have also been made for the future: with a motor drive power of twice 30 kilowatts and an XL Counterweight Tensioning system, the installation is already designed for the planned extension of 100 meters next summer.
