Snowdome "Sölden" in Bispingen near Hamburg
At the end of October, probably the most interesting and modern indoor ski dome in Europe, the Snowdome in Bispingen, opened 50 km south of Hamburg. The hall, which is already visible from several kilometers away, invites visitors with its elegant architecture adapted to the landscape.
Even the first glance inside the building makes it clear that quality-oriented winter sports experts are behind the project here. The operators of the Snowdome are namely the Ötztaler Bergbahnen from Sölden/Tyrol. Winter sports enthusiasts from northern Germany have access to a 300-meter-long and up to 100-meter-wide slope in the hall, which is covered with snow by state-of-the-art snow cannons, at an indoor temperature of -2 to -4 °C. The Snowdome is a technological achievement.
A technological achievement has made it possible for not a single support of the detachable 6-seater chairlift to stand in the way of the turns in the snow. The lift installed by Doppelmayr has been mounted under the roof using an innovative system. To make access to this state-of-the-art lift as comfortable as possible, winter sports enthusiasts are positioned by a ChairkiD access conveyor. This also makes entry smooth and uncomplicated.
Extra-wide Sunkid "Palast" Moving Carpet in the beginners' area
In the beginner's area of the Skidome Bispingen there is a Sunkid Moving Carpet, which surpasses everything else in the indoor area. On a width of 1.2m, the metropolitan beginners are carried to the top. Everyone stands on it - skiers, snowboarders, tobogganers, tubers, pedestrians, grandparents - wide and across and somehow, but always comfortably.
The conveyor belt has a length of 54m and is driven by an 11 kW dual-motor drive. The installation is built in a special fire-retardant design. The proven Ruff Top System was chosen as the conveyor belt surface. Constant conveyor belt tension is ensured by a hydraulic tensioning station, which is installed in the return station and has a tensioning travel of 1m.
This system was specially developed for indoor use and sets new standards for the future. This "extra-wide" Sunkid Moving Carpet is the result of a joint project between Doppelmayr and Bruckschlögl.
The "Snowdome" also offers top quality off the slopes. The spacious and tastefully designed gastronomic facility covering some 2,000 m² brings Tyrolean flair to the Lüneburger Heide. In different bars, restaurants and ski huts in the alpine style one can celebrate also here Apres Ski, almost like approx. 1000 km south.
The Ski Dome in Hamburg is a forward-looking facility, generously designed and realized with enormous financial effort. Surely this facility, like the already existing Skidomes, will whet the appetite for snowy mountain slopes. Therefore, the Ötztal and the entire Alpine region can look forward to the new winter guests who will be "trained" in Bispingen.
