Bergbahnen See open new beginners' area with Sunkid conveyor belt in the center
The See ski resort in the Paznaun Valley (Austria) opened a completely new area for families and beginners for the 2025/2026 ski season - with wide practice slopes, its own family snow park and optimized piste connections. With the "Familienglück" chairlift, this area, including the freestyle area, can now be easily reached by skiers of all abilities. Once there, right next to the "Familienglück" valley station, the new 152-metre-long Sunkid "Almwiese" Moving Carpet allows winter sports beginners and Ski School students many relaxed ascents between their exercises on the beginner-friendly blue slope 14.
The modern conveyor belt of the current Sunkid Type N generation ensures a safe and easy introduction to skiing and snowboarding: The 75 centimeter wide endless belt with "Blue Eye" surface offers the best grip in all conditions. The EVO N gallery covers the entire length of the conveyor belt and protects both passengers and conveyor belt components from the wind and weather. Easy-to-lock hinged doors at the top and bottom of the gallery also prevent snow from entering when not in use.
The emergency exits are designed as slide-up doors at intervals of 24 meters - easy to open and perfectly integrated into the overall appearance of the installation. Cameras and the option of the external i-CONTROL terminal allow the Moving Carpet to be operated and monitored from the station of the neighboring "Familienglück" lift, saving Bergbahnen See additional lift personnel. As the conveyor belt's control box is located outside the gallery, additional operating terminals are available on the inside of the gallery arches at the drive and return station.
Driven by a 30 kW motor and equipped with an active "Jumbo" tensioning device in the bottom station, a theoretical transport capacity of 1,800 people per hour can be achieved at an operating speed of 1.2 m/s.
Following the jointly implemented major summer projects in 2024 and 2025 ("Bear World" on the mountain and Wood'n'Fun at the bathing lake), Sunkid is delighted to be able to continue supporting the further development of the destination See in winter. With this latest investment, the See ski resort is strengthening its position as a particularly child-friendly and modern destination for winter sports enthusiasts.
