North Tzoumerka opens new Dry Slopes and Tubing facilities with Sunkid Moving Carpet and Rotondo
Nestled in the Pindus Mountains, the mountain destination of Epirus (North Tzoumerka region) will no longer just be famous for its breathtaking nature and Greek alpine charm. Because everything is ready for the grand opening of the latest summer attraction - a successful example of sustainable development towards hybrid year-round tourism.
The aim of the project is to make winter sports and snow experiences accessible to guests, even in places where snow is not a given. The result is an impressive facility with several attractions from the Sunkid year-round portfolio.
Around a modern Type-N Moving Carpet with gallery roofing, which ensures safe and comfortable transport of visitors and sports equipment up the mountain, a 1,500 m² Dry Slope, which can be used all year round, and two Tubby slides were created. These two tracks each cover around 90 meters. One of them has two rapid curves, while the second is designed for full speed and is completely straight, with brake mats guaranteeing a secure hold in the valley.
Thanks to the innovative synthetic surface of the Dry Slopes, it is possible to inspire athletes all year round, regardless of the climatic conditions. Beginners can learn to ski here, athletes can complete their "off-season" training and schools and clubs can expand their range of sports.
In the immediate vicinity, a Rotondo carousel rounds off the offer especially for children. In winter, it is used for balance exercises, to prepare for the platter lift ride on skis, or simply as break-time entertainment during ski lessons. In summer, it delights families as a swing carousel or provides tubing fun on dry slopes.
