"CAROSELLO 3000" in Livigno (Italy) with two modern Type N conveyor belts
The state-of-the-art "CAROSELLO 3000" area in Livigno (Italy) was newly built to host international competitions in the disciplines of moguls and ski acrobatics. The World Cup final and an Olympic test event were already held here in 2025 in the Livigno Aerials and Moguls Park. As part of the 2026 Winter Olympics, the top athletes from the freestyle scene will also be transported to the start in comfort on two Sunkid Moving Carpets.
The ascent to the aerials competition course is divided into two sections: The first, 51-meter-long Moving Carpet takes the freestyle athletes as well as their coaches and the officials to the coaches' and judges' tower and the kickers. The second, 103-meter-long Sunkid conveyor belt then transports the athletes directly to the height of the start.
Despite the high average gradients of just under 35 percent*, both Moving Carpets of the latest Sunkid "Type N" generation offer the best grip thanks to the Blue Eye belt surface and ice-free heating systems in the drive and deflection stations. Perfectly matched to the length, gradient and required capacity, the shorter lower installation is equipped with a standard deflection station and 5.5 kW motor power. The upper installation, which is twice as long, has a Jumbo type diverter station and a 15 kW motor.
Like other major event projects before it (e.g. boat conveyors for Paris 2024 or Tokyo 2021), the project in Livigno shows how the Sunkid Moving Carpet can cover the widest possible range: As a tailor-made system, it offers both winter sports beginners and top-level athletes reliably safe and comfortable transportation.
