Borer Lift AG re-equips beginners' area in Kandersteg-Oeschinensee
Kandersteg-Oeschinensee (Switzerland) is not a classic sports-oriented ski area in the middle of the Blüemlisalp massif in the Bernese Alps, but a nature and pleasure area that positions itself through regionality, sustainability and family friendliness. With its clear blue and red pistes and less hustle and bustle than the large ski areas in the surrounding area, it is ideal for winter sports beginners of all ages.
In 2025, the long-standing customer relationship between Gondelbahn Kandersteg-Oeschinensee AG and Borer Lift AG, which serves the Swiss market within the Sunkid Group, was successfully continued as part of the refurbishment of the children's and beginners' area. Borer Managing Director Axel Halder is satisfied: "After our customer has relied on the ski conveyor belts and various small lifts (including the Pino Cord and Comfort Star) from Sunkid and Borer for decades, we installed a new 37-metre-long Moving Carpet in 2024. With the new acquisitions from our "Sunny Stuff" product portfolio, the "Oeschiland" beginners' park and the "Oeschipark" snow park have been made even more child-friendly, experience-oriented and interactive for this winter season."
The customer describes the first area as "ideal for families with children. With a large and a small conveyor belt, children's lift, 2 fun carousels and various play figures as well as a toboggan run." The mountain conveyor solutions and the original "Rotondo" mountain carousel - in the version with plate lift bars and also as a tubing carousel - come from Sunkid.
Right from the Moving Carpet ascent, the ride passes through passage arches (size M) individually designed in the customer's design, whereby the corporate design is also reflected on the control boxes of the conveyor belts and on the stickers of the two Rotondos.
Monster arches in green and red mark the start and finish of a fun descent: in a fast-paced slalom, the young winter sports enthusiasts curve around Monster Spin, Twister, Triple Claps and High/Low 5 Mini, with different numbers and heights of clap-off hands and rotating elements. The brave ones dare to make their first jumps over a small kicker, the inrun of which is marked with snow brushes. After landing, the aim is to throw the Monster Ski Boxing punching ball as high into the air as possible.
Weatherproof seating provides peace and quiet in the immediate vicinity of the Rotondo carousels. These are amusingly designed in the shape of a cow, a mouse and an elephant and can also be used for climbing and sliding, depending on your mood.
Advanced skiers and snowboarders can then venture into the "Oeschipark", where a child-friendly wave run is located next to other kids' obstacles from the Sunkid portfolio for adrenaline-filled action. Whether up & down, rainbow, pipe or flat box: Riding over these fun elements requires balance and speed control - and rounds off the overall package of interactive fun and experience-oriented learning.
