Cableway students present exciting graduation projects

The graduating class specialising in cableway technology at the Landesberufsschule Hallein is presenting its projects, which include a functional small skiing lift planned and built by students.

1,500 students and more than 50 teachers study and work at the Landesberufsschule Hallein, the largest vocational school in the state of Salzburg. Since its founding in 1877, the school has kept on developing, and has become renowned as a competence centre for metal-technical professions.

Various professions from the commercial area, locksmith, electrician, carpenter, stonemason, mason, and tailor crafts can be acquired and practiced there. Sunkid has provided a Moving Carpet to the students for practice for a few years now.

Successful completion of the training requires preparation and presentation of a project-related task.

The presentations of the graduation class specialising in cableway engineering took place recently, subject to excited coverage by media and partners. Its highlight was a fully functional small skiing lift planned, built, and presented by David Haas and Jonas Wallner.

The two students and developers are employed by Bavarian Arber Bergbahn.

They spent 1.5 years planning their small skiing lift. 80 hours went into installing it in the vocational school’s cableway hall. The final project was supported by Sunkid with an endlessly spliced plastic cable.

The project’s mentors were Ing. Roland Gruber and Andreas Spitzelseder.

A total of 8,100 euros were invested in the small skiing lift with low rope guidance that will remain in the cableway hall for training purposes. The two students completed their studies with an average grade of 1.0.
